Dosage

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to tadalafil or to any substance that is part of the drug;
• In case of taking drugs containing any organic nitrates;
• The use of persons under 18 years old;
• Presence of contraindications to sexual activity in patients with cardiovascular system diseases: myocardial infarction within past 90 days, unstable angina, an occurrence of angina during sexual intercourse, chronic heart failure, uncontrolled arrhythmia, hypotension (BP less than 90/50 mmHg), uncontrolled hypertension, ischemic stroke within the last 6 months;
• Loss of vision due to anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (regardless of connection with taking PDE-5 inhibitors);

• Frequent (more than 2 times per week) application in patients with chronic renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min);

Interactions with Other Medications

Selective inhibitor ketoconazole at a dose of 400 mg/day increases concentration in plasma of tadalafil in a single dose of 31,2% and maximum concentration – 22%.

Ritonavir (200 mg, 2 times/day) dose increases blood plasma concentration of 52,4% without changing the maximum concentration. Such inhibitors as ritonavir and saquinavir, erythromycin and itraconazole, increase tadalafil activity.

Rifampicin (60 / mg / day) decreases effect of tadalafil. Drug concentration in blood plasma is about 88% and the maximum concentration – 46%.

Tadalafil enhances an effect of drugs containing nitrates in itself. It occurs as a result of an additive effect on the metabolism of nitric oxide and cGMP. Cialis appointment together with nitrates is contraindicated.

Tadalafil did not affect the action of warfarin relating to prothrombin time.

Tadalafil has vasodilator properties, and can often enhance the action of drugs aimed at blood pressure lowering.

Cialis and Alcohol Consumption

According to clinical research, an active constituent of Cialis – Tadalafil has no significant effect on the level of alcohol in the body, even because alcohol does not affect the concentration of tadalafil taken.

In clinical studies, blood pressure of patients who consumed alcohol in a dose 0.7 g / kg (approximately 180 grams of vodka kg / 80 weight body) in combination with Cialis 10 mg or 20 mg, was decreased more than when using only alcohol. However, its reception does not cause severe side effects and gains significant reduction in blood pressure.

In the case when patients consumed 20 mg with a low dose of alcohol, 0.6 g / kg (100-120 gm of alcohol beverages), a decrease in blood pressure was observed, and dizziness occurred.
